Hello friends,
Assignment 9: Simply… noodle
You’ll need:
A meal of spaghetti or other such long-noodled pasta. This is preferably done on a night when you’ve got no energy but to dump sauce on noods. The beauty of this project is that it is almost (secretly) not a project at all.
Select a long-noodled pasta like spaghetti or linguine.
Boil water and cook pasta as you would normally.
Here’s where things become important… drain pasta into a colander. If any noodles stick to the sides of the pan, LEAVE THEM THERE. DON’T TOUCH THEM. Set the pan aside, and don’t let anyone eat the stuck noodles or throw them away. This may cause turmoil and confusion in the kitchen. It’s okay.
If no noodles are stuck to the pan, you will need to select a couple from the colander to use. In this case, stick the noodles to the pan in a variety of fashions. Alternatively, drape or wrap noodles around any interesting surfaces in your kitchen.Leaving your stuck and placed noodles in the kitchen, go on and eat your dinner. Have a piece of chocolate, brush your teeth, turn in for the night, sleep like a baby.
In the morning, carefully remove your now dry noodles from their surfaces. Be gentle with them, they are very brittle now. Examine their shapes.
Note: believe it or not, I have wanted to write this assignment since long before I started this substack project. Bon appetit!
Looking forward to spaghetti night in the near future!
