30 Day Cold Stratification Period

Hibernation

Dear friends,

Recently, I have been filling old milk jugs with soil and seeds and placing them outside to cold stratify (and germinate). Many of the native seeds I’ve sown require 30 days of cold conditions — some 60, some 120!

Like the seeds, I too am in need of a hibernation period. I’ll be pausing payments for the month of February while I take a break from posting, and will return in March — hopefully renewed with a bounty of springtime vigor :-)

In the meantime… do you like gardening and have an interest in native plants? Since moving into a house with a yard a couple years ago, I have become obsessed with this hobby and I love to share knowledge! Reply to this email or comment… let’s talk plants.
